Our Team

Ben Love

Director

Given that Ben passionately began his own IT company in the form of Grassroots IT, it’s no real surprise that his love for technology began at an early age – in fact, he nagged his mum for his first computer (a Commodore 64) at the age of 8. After beginning his official IT career in the University of Queensland IT Centre, Ben has experienced the whole spectrum of IT, from working in large multinational financial organisations to facing the challenges of running IT on a remote island. When he has any spare time, you will find Ben hanging out with his family, out running, cooking up a storm, reading business magazines or… yep, playing on the computer. If Ben was a superhero, his superpowers of choice would be flying or invisibility.

Annie Love

Director/Marketing/Admin

Annie has worn many hats over her career, from being a Systems Administrator at Servcorp, to working in advertising for Vogue magazines and managing conferences and weddings on Hayman Island. These days, her main role is to play with her young sons (and junior-technicians-in-training) Sam and Charlie. Otherwise, you will find her working with the Grassroots IT team on anything and everything to do with marketing and administration for the business. She has a passion for creativity, and loves to read, cook and spend time with her family and friends. If Annie was a superhero, her chosen superpower would be to have a gleamingly clean house in the click of her fingers (every young mum’s dream!).

David Harcourt

Service Manager

David was born to be in IT – he could play Space Invaders before he could even walk. David does a great job of supporting our clients’ systems, both onsite and remotely, as well as keeping an eye on helpdesk operations for the Grassroots IT team. With 11 years of IT experience behind him, David knows about all things geeky. As well as running his own breakfix IT company, he has worked with Hutchison Telecom (3 Mobile) focusing on areas such as application support and testing and handset support, which has led to a special interest in Mobility. When he has spare time, David enjoys fencing, reading, cooking and scotch collecting (but not all at once). If David was a superhero, his chosen superpowers would be super-healing (after suffering way too many dislocated shoulders) and teleportation (after suffering way too many traffic jams).

Tony Farmer

Engineer

Although the youngest member of our team, Tony has nearly seven years of experience in IT and began his IT career with a traineeship. Prior to joining us, Tony worked in various IT roles in the Toowoomba region, most recently managing a computer wholesaling business. When he’s not busy looking after our favourite clients, Tony enjoys spending his spare time playing video games or heading out for dinner and movies with his girlfriend. Once he got over his fear of heights, Tony thinks Flight would be a pretty useful superpower.

Sam Douglas

Engineer

Sam started in IT at the ripe old age of 17, studying Information Technology at CSIT Sunshine Coast. His favourite thing about being in IT is that he learns something new every day. Outside of the nerdy stuff, his interests are wide and varied, including cars, spearfishing, gaming (okay, there is a bit of nerdy stuff on the side too), mountain biking and dining out. Sam’s superpower of choice would be shapeshifting because “it would be awesome to take the form of whatever/whomever I please.”

Carol Money

Accounts

Originally hailing from the UK, Carol has studied accountancy and multimedia and worked with various organisations across her career both in the UK and in Australia. As well as being a bookkeeper extraordinaire for Grassroots IT, Carol is also a mum extraordinaire to two teenage children and enjoys tennis, paddling and arts and crafts. If Carol was a superhero, her chosen superpower would be flexibility
