Get Genuine Value from Microsoft Copilot

AI is changing how work gets done. We help Brisbane businesses move beyond the hype and put Copilot to work where it actually matters — across productivity, business processes, customer engagement, and decision-making.

The Opportunity

The AI Question Every Business Leader Is Asking

Microsoft 365 Copilot puts AI directly into the apps your team already uses. Since December 2025, Copilot Business has made it accessible for organisations with fewer than 300 users. But most businesses skip the preparation that makes it useful.

Your SharePoint needs to be organised

Copilot draws on your Microsoft 365 data. If your SharePoint is disorganised and files are scattered, Copilot can’t find what it needs to generate useful responses.

Copilot respects your existing access controls. If permissions are over-shared, Copilot can surface sensitive information to the wrong people. Proper configuration is essential before rollout.

Application control sounds straightforward until it blocks legitimate software your team relies on. Patching seems simple until an update breaks a critical system.

This is where having the right partner makes the difference between a successful Copilot rollout and an expensive tool that nobody uses.

The Challenge

Why Most Copilot Rollouts Underperform

The data isn’t ready

Copilot draws on your Microsoft 365 data to generate responses. If your SharePoint is disorganised, your files have inconsistent naming, and documents are scattered across personal OneDrives, Copilot can’t find what it needs. The old rule applies: garbage in, garbage out.

Copilot respects your existing access controls. That’s a good thing — but it also means if your permissions are over-shared (and most SMBs’ are), Copilot can surface sensitive information to people who technically have access but probably shouldn’t. This isn’t a Copilot problem. It’s an existing problem that Copilot makes visible.

Buying licences is about 20% of the job. The other 80% is helping your team understand what Copilot can do, teaching them to prompt effectively, and building Copilot into team workflows rather than leaving it as an individual experiment. Without this, most people try it once, get a mediocre result, and never use it again.

Copilot is brilliant at some things and average at others. If your team expects it to replace thinking, they’ll be disappointed. If they expect it to eliminate the tedious parts of their day — drafting, summarising, searching, formatting — they’ll be delighted.

Microsoft’s own research shows the average Copilot user saves around 1.2 hours per week. That’s real, measurable productivity — across a team of 30, it adds up to 36 hours of capacity returned to the business every week. But many organisations see far less. Every one of these problems is solvable. That’s exactly what our Copilot programmes are designed to address.

What Microsoft 365 Copilot Does for Your Team

Copilot works inside the Microsoft 365 apps your team uses every day. Here’s where it makes a real difference.

Copilot in Action

Outlook — Tame the Inbox

Summarise long email threads in seconds. Draft replies that reference the actual conversation. Catch up on what you missed while you were in meetings. For teams drowning in email, this is where Copilot pays for itself fastest.

Teams — Meetings That Actually Stick

Join a meeting late and get caught up instantly. Generate meeting summaries with action items assigned to the right people. Review what was discussed and decided without watching the recording. For businesses that live in meetings, this transforms how decisions get captured.

Word — First Drafts in Minutes

Generate first drafts of proposals, reports, and communications based on your existing documents and data. Copilot doesn’t replace your team’s expertise — it eliminates the blank page problem and lets them focus on refining rather than starting from scratch.

Excel — Data Analysis Without the Formulas

Ask questions about your data in plain English. Generate charts, identify trends, and build formulas without needing to be an Excel expert. For businesses that know their answers are in the data but struggle to extract them, this is transformative.

PowerPoint — Presentations from Your Content

Create presentation drafts from Word documents, meeting notes, or simple descriptions. Copilot handles the structure and design so your team can focus on the story they want to tell.

Copilot Chat — Your Business Knowledge, On Demand

Ask Copilot questions grounded in your organisation’s data — across emails, documents, meetings, and chats. It’s like having an assistant who’s read everything and can surface the right information when you need it.

Pricing and Value

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is now genuinely accessible for SMBs

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is currently available from AU$26.91 per user per month (ex GST) as an add-on to your existing Microsoft 365 Business plan, with promotional pricing available through June 2026. Bundled plans that combine your M365 subscription with Copilot are also available.

For a team of 30, that’s approximately $810 per month — or $9,700 per year. If Copilot delivers the average 1.2 hours saved per user per week, you’re getting back 36 hours of productivity weekly. Whether that maths works for your business depends on how well the implementation is done.

That’s why we recommend starting with a Readiness Assessment and Guided Pilot before committing to a full rollout. Prove the value first, then scale with confidence.

Data stays within your tenant

Copilot works within your Microsoft 365 tenant. Your data doesn’t leave the tenant boundary, ensuring your business information stays where it belongs.

Copilot respects your existing permissions, sensitivity labels, and data loss prevention policies. Users only see what they already have access to.

Your business data is not used to train Microsoft’s underlying AI models. Your information remains yours.

The real risk isn’t Copilot itself — it’s existing security gaps that Copilot can expose. If your environment has over-shared permissions (and most do), Copilot can surface information to people who technically have access but probably shouldn’t.

Our Readiness Assessment specifically addresses security concerns, and our cybersecurity team can help lock down your environment before you enable Copilot. Learn about our Cybersecurity Services.

How We Help You Get Genuine Value from Copilot

We offer four structured programmes to help you adopt Copilot at the right pace for your business — from initial assessment through to full organisational rollout.

01.

Copilot Readiness Assessment

Before you spend a dollar on Copilot licences, find out if your environment is ready.

We review your Microsoft 365 environment across three dimensions: data readiness (is your SharePoint organised, are files structured and findable?), security posture (are permissions configured correctly, are sensitivity labels in place?), and people readiness (which teams are best suited for a pilot, what training will they need?).

You’ll receive a clear, practical report with specific recommendations — not a generic checklist, but an assessment grounded in how your business actually works.

  • Assessment of your current M365 environment against Copilot prerequisites
  • SharePoint and data hygiene review
  • Permissions and security posture evaluation
  • Recommended pilot group and use cases for your business
  • Licensing guidance and cost analysis in AUD
  • Clear go/no-go recommendation with a prioritised action plan

Copilot Jumpstart Workshop

A hands-on session that shows your team what Copilot can actually do — with your data, in your environment.

We run a structured workshop with your leadership or pilot team, demonstrating Copilot’s capabilities using your real Microsoft 365 environment. This isn’t a generic demo — we show Copilot summarising your actual meeting recordings, drafting responses to your real emails, and analysing your genuine business data.

We also cover effective prompting techniques (the single biggest factor in getting value from Copilot), realistic expectations, and quick wins your team can start using immediately.

  • Half-day interactive workshop with your team
  • Live demonstrations using your actual M365 data
  • Prompting skills training with before-and-after examples
  • Quick-win playbook: the five highest-value Copilot use cases for your business
  • Recorded session for team members who couldn’t attend
03.

Guided Pilot Programme

A structured 60-day pilot that proves the value of Copilot for your specific business — with data to back it up.

We design and manage a structured pilot programme. We help you select the right pilot users (typically 5–10 heavy M365 users), define success metrics before you start, and provide hands-on support throughout the 60-day programme.

We check in weekly to address questions, share tips, and ensure your pilot users are getting genuine value. At the end of the programme, we compile the results and present a clear recommendation for next steps — expand, adjust, or hold.

  • Pilot user selection and onboarding
  • Defined success metrics aligned to your business goals
  • Weekly check-ins and prompt coaching for pilot users
  • Usage analytics and productivity measurement
  • End-of-pilot report with data-backed recommendations
  • Expansion roadmap if the pilot proves successful
04.

Copilot Adoption Programme

Move beyond the pilot and embed Copilot into how your whole team works.

We manage the full rollout — from licensing and configuration through to team-by-team training and ongoing adoption support. We develop role-specific training (because how a finance manager uses Copilot is different from how a project coordinator uses it), create internal champions, and build Copilot into your team’s standard workflows.

This isn’t a one-off training session. It’s a structured programme that ensures Copilot becomes embedded in your daily operations, not just another tool that people forget about.

  • Full rollout planning and licensing management
  • Role-specific training programmes for different teams
  • Internal champion identification and enablement
  • Workflow integration: embedding Copilot into team processes
  • Ongoing adoption monitoring and support
  • Quarterly usage reviews and optimisation recommendations

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to be on a specific Microsoft 365 plan to use Copilot?

Yes. Copilot Business is available as an add-on to Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard, or Premium plans. You need fewer than 300 users. If you’re on an Enterprise plan, you’ll need the Enterprise Copilot SKU instead. We can review your current licensing and recommend the most cost-effective path.

Absolutely — and we strongly recommend it. Our Guided Pilot Programme is designed exactly for this. Start with 5–10 users for 60 days, measure the results, and then decide. Microsoft also offers a free Copilot Chat experience (with limited features) that you can try today with your existing M365 subscription.

The licences can be activated within a day. But getting genuine value takes longer — typically 2–4 weeks for environment preparation and a 60-day pilot to properly assess the impact. Rushing the rollout is the number one reason Copilot underperforms.

Copilot works within Microsoft 365 applications. It doesn’t directly integrate with third-party software, but it can work with data that’s stored in or connected to your Microsoft 365 environment. For businesses that run on M365 for communication, collaboration, and document management, the coverage is comprehensive.

The ACCC took action against Microsoft in late 2025 regarding how personal subscription pricing and plan options were communicated to Australian consumers. This related to personal subscriptions, not business plans. However, it’s a good reminder to review your licensing regularly — many businesses are on plans that don’t match their actual needs. We can help with a licensing review as part of our Readiness Assessment.

Copilot processes your data within your Microsoft 365 tenant boundary. It respects existing permissions and security policies. Your data is not used to train Microsoft’s AI models. The key is ensuring your permissions and sensitivity labels are properly configured before enabling Copilot — which is exactly what our Readiness Assessment covers.
