IT Support for Mining, Resources & Energy Operators

For resources and energy operators: coal and gas producers, renewables asset operators and regional utilities running their own sites, plants and networks.

Your systems should be as dependable as your plant.

Coal and gas producers, renewables operators and regional utilities carry the same obligations as the majors, without the majors’ head office behind them. Fixed sites that cannot stop, plant and control systems, contractor crews that come and go, and a licence that depends on evidence. We support operators like this across Queensland, and the same problems come up at almost every one. Here is what they look like, and what we do about them.

SCADA and plant control, historians like OSI PI, weighbridges and site access systems on one side; Microsoft 365, finance and the corporate network on the other. The two grew up separately, they now depend on each other, and at most operators nobody owns the join.

Your Site Senior Executive carries personal statutory obligations, the safety and health management system has to hold its records, and the environmental authority sits alongside. Energy participants carry AEMO and AESCSF expectations on top. The evidence trail behind all of it lives in systems, and those systems have to be dependable.

Production runs around the clock at sites a long way from the office, connected by whatever links the geography allows. Contractor crews arrive with every project phase, and every one of them needs the right access on day one and none of it after they demobilise.

We keep resources and energy operations running, on site and in the office.

We run your corporate IT, the connectivity that joins your sites, and the cybersecurity across all of it, working alongside the people who run your plant systems. Day to day, that comes down to five commitments.

SCADA, historians and plant networks are run by your operations people and their vendors. Our job is the office side and the connection between the two: the corporate network, identity and cybersecurity meeting your operational systems safely, with that interface managed rather than left as a gap. We support clients where exactly this join matters today.

Connectivity designed for where your sites actually are: fibre or microwave where the geography allows it, satellite where it does not, and monitoring focused on the links and systems production depends on, so site and office work as one operation.

Your safety and health management system records, training and competency files and incident reports all live in systems. We keep those systems dependable, backed up and recoverable, so when the regulator asks, the evidence is there.

Accounts and system access provisioned when a crew mobilises and removed when they leave, so access always matches who is actually on site.

Cybersecurity built and run to what your regulators and your risk actually require, with evidence kept current. Where frameworks like the AESCSF or the SOCI Act genuinely apply to your operation, we help you meet them. Where they do not, we will tell you that too.

Cybersecurity You Can Prove

In this sector, security and compliance obligations do not arrive at tender time. They arrive from the regulator, continuously, with named accountable individuals. Our job is the substance underneath: cybersecurity that exists in practice, systems that keep the statutory evidence trail dependable, and evidence that stays current.

Where cybersecurity maturity needs building and showing, we work through the recognised frameworks: Essential Eight, SMB1001 and ISO 27001, and the AESCSF for energy participants. The obligations themselves stay yours: your Site Senior Executive’s statutory duties and your environmental authority do not transfer. We keep what they depend on solid.

We Hold the Bar We Help You Meet

We hold triple ISO certification ourselves, including ISO 27001 for information security, plus SMB1001 Gold, so we know what maintaining a management system and its evidence actually takes.

We have supported Queensland operations-heavy businesses for over twenty years: multiple sites, field workforces, and systems that cannot stop.

Automation, Data and Reporting for Your Operation

Your operation produces data all day, most of it re-assembled by hand every month for production and compliance reporting:

  • SCADA and historians
  • Weighbridge dockets
  • ERP
  • Safety statistics
  • Environmental monitoring

We build automation and reporting on the Microsoft platform you already own, so the numbers your operation produces turn into the reports your board and your regulator need, without the admin days.

While those questions are often more operational or SHEQ-related than IT, we are happy to work with you to get the best outcomes.

FAQs about IT for Mining, Resources & Energy

What IT does a mining or energy company need?

Beyond ordinary business IT, an operator needs four things: someone accountable for the join between plant systems and office IT, connectivity engineered for remote sites, dependable systems behind the statutory evidence trail (safety records, training and competency, incident reporting), and cybersecurity strong enough to protect the licence to operate.

IT is the office side: Microsoft 365, finance, email, the corporate network. OT is the operational side: SCADA, plant control, historians, weighbridges. Convergence is the fact that the two now depend on each other: production data feeds corporate reporting, and a cybersecurity problem on either side can reach the other. The practical question is not the definition but the ownership: someone has to be responsible for the join.

With whatever mix the geography allows: fibre or licensed microwave where a site is reachable, satellite where it is not, and private wireless across the site itself. The right answer depends on the site, the bandwidth production systems actually need, and what the link has to survive. Designing that mix is part of our job.

Only if your assets meet the critical-infrastructure thresholds, and many operations at this scale do not. It is worth establishing properly rather than assuming either way: we check the thresholds against your operation, and where the SOCI Act or the AESCSF genuinely applies, we build the compliance into your cybersecurity rather than treating it as paperwork.
